This part is used to insert a 3/4" or 1" Sch 40 pipe into the ground after the initial hole is opened with the compression point. The point is screwed into the PVC pipe and cuts threads on the inside of the pipe much like a tap. The outside diameter of the point is the same as the outside diameter of the pipe itself. After the point is attached the pipe then this assembly is shoved into the hole and the point chases the hole made by the compression point. As roots or fragments of rock or debris are encountered they are moved back out of the way to allow the pipe to inserted. As the point emerges into the exit pit, it is removed from the PVC pipe by simply unscrewing it.
